The prices are phenomenal and so are the donuts. I'm from New England, and you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a donut shop, whether it's a franchise or a mom-and-pop business - living in OKC, I've missed that! I recently discovered Polar Donuts, and it's a great substitute for "back home". Take the hot glazed donut if they offer it. Trust me. I really have no complaints. The donuts are light and airy, the glaze is good and doesn't taste or feel like you're biting into a piece of wax, and the flavor variation offers something for everyone.

These are wonderfull people I miss living on that side of town. The owner cooking is super nice and often offers a hot one right out of the fryer. The buttermilk cake doughnuts are my favorite.

Walked in around 8:00am and the donuts were so fresh and yummy! Surprisingly they didn't have fresh milk for their serve-yourself coffee - whoops, lost a star, sorry (McDonalds does that too.) If you love donuts this place is the real thing.

I woke up this morning in quite a mood for donuts! I'm thinking to myself ok Miss Donut Kween you've never had donuts in the wonderful state of Oklahoma so let's put on your Donut Crown and get to steppin' out on the town and search for the best Donut place around. I searched my Yelp app and figured I'd find the closest donut shop to our hotel as I was wanting to get on the road to finish my travels. I came across Polar Donuts which was a few miles up the street from where we were. I saw the pics first and what caught my fancy was the names of a few of the donuts: The Camel Toe & Strong Pimp Hand. Now with these names how can one not want to find out what this donut shop is all about? I was hooked. Creativity and flava-flav's that stand out from the hum-drum of dunkin donuts or Krispy Kreme always tend to catch my eye. I set the GPS and I was off for a morning adventure. My loving donut krew seemed to be as excited as I was!!! We found the place with ease. I saw the Polar Bear colorfully displayed in the window, it was as if he was waving us a friendly "How do ya do, step right in" and so we did. What first caught my eye was not the Camel Toe donuts or the Strong Pimp hand as I would suspect but rather the fritters. Normally not a big thang to me as I rarely give them a second glance. But there were quite a few choices, Peach Fritter, Cherry Fritter, Apple Fritter, Blueberry Fritter & Pineapple Fritters. My Word! All these flavors running through my mind. What would I pick, how would I pick? Decisions, Decisions! Well I had to hastily go through process of elimination as there were so many other tempting donuts to try. Don't like Apple so that was out, Blueberry was sold out so I went for the remaining three. My eyes were going back and forth over the case as if I was at a tennis match, watching the ball being hit back and forth trying not to miss a beat. The bottom row of donuts were all filled powdered sugar donuts. They didn't appear to be filled the normal way they looked a bit like donut sandwiches, filled with everything from peach to apple, blueberry to cherry. Then there were a few amazing flavors such as chocolate mousse, Peanut Butter, Strawberry with the cutest pic of Strawberry Shortcake(oh those childhood memories) key lime pie & chocolate puddin' *licking lips* lemon & wild raspberry! Next in line was Brazilian Crack. They were out of this so I know a return trip is necessary! And soon!! Other flavors included Whipped Cream Pie and Boston cream pie. After all of this exhaustion and need for a sugar high I picked the donuts to bring home to friends and family and then I moved on to those I would try on the road. (Wait they didn't make it even remotely close to the road! Most were tasted and sampled well before we started our trip haha!) For our road trip I picked the infamous Camel Toe & Strong Pimp hand. And each of the fritters minus the apple (ewww!) Now Im sure you are all wondering what is a Camel Toe. Basically its similar to a bear claw however its not a pastry like a bear claw it has one simple slice down the middle and its more of a glazed donut base with a wonderfully flavored cherry cream filling. Once I was done with it I instantly knew I should have ordered more. The Strong Pimp Hand very similar but larger with slices cut to look like fingers. This one im sad to say I didn't eat because it was filled with apple filling (again ewww.. I just cant do the apple thing! Pass me a fresh apple and I'll eat eat.. but cooked apple IMO is not doable !!) :C) Before I started up my car I had to try the Peach Fritter. First bite put me in a space from whence I did not wish to return. Biting down into a Krispy Krunchy outer shell with flakes of the light powdered sugary coating Kracking off and falling to my lap couldn't have been any better at that moment. It was a perfect ratio of cinnamon and spices in the light fried to perfection dough which from what the owner told me was made with Idaho Potatoes, and then there were the pieces of peach that tasted so fresh it was as though they just picked them off the tree cut them up and threw them in the batter. Sinking my teeth into the amazing soft moist center with those pieces of silky peach on my tongue.... *Wowza!* *Kaboom!!* *Holy Smokes Batman!!* I walked back into the shop to buy a bottled water however I ran into yet another reason why I am giving them a 5-star rating!! I love my milk iced cold with a layer of ice floating from the top. I am not one to ever purchase milk as a drink at any eatery I go to. I went in with the expectation to buy a bottled water as this is 98% of what I drink. Upon meeting, who I believe was the owner, "Yance" I opened the cooler and just happened to pull out a milk and I shook it and low and behold it was iced cold! Super Big Smile on my Face!!! I bought the milk as I was having a conversation with 'Yance" who was explaining to me the process of the fritters ....

Flew in from Houston and stumbled upon this hole in the wall. Some of the friendliest people working there and the best selection of Coffeemate creamer!

***BEWARE, YOU CAN'T JUST EAT ONE*** I've never really been a huge donut fan...but oh man, these donuts are heavenly! When you first walk through the door, you are greeted with a smile and are asked if you would like a complimentary glazed donut while you order. The first time I came here, I declined the free donut and decided to just pick up a dozen glazed to bring to work. The whole drive to work was like torture because my mouth was watering from the awesome smell that was coming out of the box! When I finally got to work, I tried one and it was the perfect balance of crispiness and chewiness. It wasn't overly sweet either which made me pretty happy because that chain donut shop around the country makes theirs waaaaay too sweet. My second time here I was offered a complimentary chocolate glazed donut and who the heck could turn down chocolate? I loved it because it was light and airy, had a little crunch to it from the glaze, and it was not too sweet. As I perused the case of all of their donunts, I decided that I wanted to try a fritter. They make apple, pineapple, and blueberry fritters and I tried an apple fritter. It was crispy and had a generous amount of apples inside. Yum! This place is awesome, so go try their donuts!

This place seems to be pretty popular but I'm confused at to why. THe donuts are greasy and the maple glaze was all dried out.

If reviews were based on food quality and taste then I might be persuaded to give a 5 star rating. On this day that I visited I got in the line of people waiting to place their donut order. After waiting behind four other people it was almost our turn to place our order. The man who was behind the counter gathering the orders looked up and looked right past us to the woman behind us named Susan. How do I know her name you ask? He called her by her first name. That's how. Shame on you Polar Donuts for being so rude and shame on Susan for barreling ahead of others who were waiting before you graced us with your presence. Cow.

This IS THE BEST in OKC for donuts that I have had so far. There is a variety of flavors for the cream and jelly filled donuts. The apple fritters are not hard and very flavorful. Wish there were more dark chocolate or chocolate options since I am a chocoholic, but hands down this doughnut shop is very good! The prices are reasonable but don't expect a cute cafe theme or something fancy to sit and enjoy eating them in. The staff is super kind and good at recommending something that will suit your needs.

Love a business that is family owned and part of the neighborhood. This gem is way off the beaten path, but so worth the trip. I had the pleasure of tasting these wonderful spud-nuts at my office and quickly became addicted to the chewy confections. I recommend the blueberry filled powdered donuts. Bursting with flavor and not too sweet. My husband is a fan of the Boston cream pie and whipped topping filled chocolate glazed donuts. My mother had the pineapple fritter. It was huge and full of flavor. I also couldn't help myself and had the camel toe. I'll be back for the pimp hand and anything else they come up with. They even donate the donuts to charities after the day is over. So step on down and adjust your camel toe and keep your pimp hand strong!!!

I heard about this place from my big bro so when it was my bosses birthday, and his fav thing is donuts, I decided to swing by and buy a dozen for the office. Reactions: "OMG! This is the best donut I've ever had!" "They have boston cream!! How did you know this is my fav!?!" "Strawberry with coconut!!! Yummmmm!" The list goes on and on. I was definitely on the popular list that day. I think what makes these donuts really special is the love that goes into each one from the owners. They are so friendly and offer you a free donut while you wait. It was my first time to a donut shop and had no idea how to choose, they of course were patient and awesome! I highly recommend!

Excellent! Walk in and be greeted to a complimentary glazed donut that is out of this world. The staff is super friendly and the donuts aren't a standing advertisement for General Mills cereal. It's full of good classics such as fritters (Apple, Pineapple, Cherry and Blueberry) as well as delicious filled donuts with flavors like strawberry pie and chocolate pudding. I really enjoy the blueberry bar (a cake style concoction) and the long johns are amazing. I highly recommend this place! It blows Hurts Donuts out of the water!!!

I'm do a lot of traveling and bring donuts to my various accounts. This is one of the best donuts shops I've had the pleasure of visiting. I was greeted with the offer of a fresh hot donut(free). It was amazing. Ordered 2 dozen donuts. Every one loved them. I will be back when I'm in town.

This is MY donut stop. If I'm in the mood for donuts, this is the only place I'll even consider going to. They use an old family recipe to make them and the owners there right in the mix every morning of every day. They even offer a free fresh glazed donut just for stopping in. There's nothing not to like about this place! Plus the prices aren't bad either.

Worth it. Never mind that this shop is a little off the beaten path, and nestled in a strip mall needing a new coat of paint; the variety and quality of their offerings coupled with an exceptional level of service make this a must-stop on any beignet-themed tour of the town.

I visited Polar Donuts last week while on business in OKC. This was my second time to go to Polar Donuts and it was just as pleasant of an experience as the first time. The location itself is in an old unassuming strip mall not far from Downtown OKC. A giant window painting of a Polar Bear greets you as you approach the door. Otherwise, I'm not sure why they are called Polar Donuts, besides the fact that the employees are all so chill. But I regress. Upon entering, my friend and I were immediately greeted by the lady working the front. She asked us if we wanted a free donut while we looked. Um......... well yes, I would like a free donut! This actually happened to us the first time we visited which is awesome because apparently it's an every time sort of thing. The genius behind this is evident as well as I wasn't about to not order my obligatory 2 donuts anyway. The free donut was just a normal glazed. It was a bit heavy and had an interesting yellow tint you don't normally see in traditional glazed donuts. (Upon further research I learned that they make their donuts from Idaho Potato Spuds, which is awesome). The taste is unique enough to be able to easily pick it out of a lineup of your normal chain donut shops. After the initial shock of getting a free donut to eat while I chose which donuts I'm going to buy, and also eat (yay America), I started focusing on the choices in front me. But, there were two donuts I was especially interested in locating. I was totally bummed to see that they had sold out of both and mentioned this to the employees who said their signature donuts always go first thing in the morning and we would just have to get there earlier next time. The two donuts in question are really quite normal. They are glazed (sometimes topped with chocolate or maple) but is their creative presentation and outrageous monikers that take the "cake". As you can see in the pics below off of their site linked in this post, you never expect to see "Strong Pimp Hand" and "Camel Toe" next to your "Old Fashioned" and "Chocolate Sprinkle". Yes you read that right "Strong Pimp Hand" and "Camel Toe". If that ain't marketing, ain't nothin marketing. Heck, it got me to go back there a second (and certainly not last) time and write a yelp review. The greatest part is when you ask the employees if you read it right, they respond so nonchalantly that you immediately accept this as normal. Once recovering from the shock and laughter I ordered my staple "Apple Fritter" and a "Cake with Chocolate frosting" to supplement. The Fritter was especially delicious and had that same slightly yellow tint that I experienced in the glaze. It was far from dry and a little richer than most Fritters I've had the pleasure of meeting in my life. The Chocolate Cake was normal and the experience I expect from a solid donut. If I didn't have the gift of sight or a sense of humor, "Polar Donuts" would stand on its own with a solid 7 out of 10 amongst the 100's of donut shops I have visited in my obviously underprivileged life. However, combined with the friendly staff, the totally random polar bear, and the apparently normal renaming of a couple classic donuts, "Polar Donuts" easily jumps a couple notches in my book. Well done Polar. I will most certainly spread your name and make my way back every time I come to town. Regular Glazed: 6 1/2 out of 10 Cake with Chocolate Frosting: 6 out of 10 Fritter: 9 out of 10 Overall: Awesome out of 10 polardonuts.com

Seriously worth the visit. Not yo average donut. We had a donut party with multiple donut shops making an appearance and these were the star.
